WHEREAS, Transit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day is an annual event to celebrate the incredible service that public transit vehicle operators and workers provide in communities; and
WHEREAS, Transit Operators and workers play a vital role in ensuring passengers arrive safely to their destinations; and
WHEREAS, Many residents rely on Collingwood Transit’s regular and specialized services daily to get to work, school, events, or appointments;
WHEREAS, When getting on or off the bus on March 18, say a little extra “thank you” to your bus driver and help celebrate Transit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day
NOW THEREFORE, I, Yvonne Hamlin, Mayor of the Town of Collingwood,
DO HEREBY PROCLAIM March 18th, 2026 as “Transit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day” in the Town of Collingwood.
