Temporary Road Closures & Transit Disruptions: Hurontario Street & Sixth Street

As part of the next phase of the Sixth Street Reconstruction Project, a temporary disruption will be in effect starting May 11, 2026. Below are details, including projected timelines, and impacts to transit service.

• The intersection of Hurontario Street and Hume Street, including sidewalks, will be closed May 11-25, 2026.
• Hurontario Street, between Hume and Sixth Street, including sidewalks, will be closed May 25 - June 15, 2026.
• The intersection of Hurontario Street and Sixth Street, including sidewalks, will be closed June 16 - 30, 2026.
• Sixth Street, between Huronario and Oak Street, including sidewalks, will be closed May 11 - October 30, 2026.

As a result, the following public transit routes will have temporary detours (refer to the map for details). Visit the Transit Page for more information. 

• Blink Route
• West Route
• Crosstown East Route
• The stops at Sixth and Hurontario Streets (Stop #602), and Hurontario and Ste. Marie (Stop #206) will not be serviced during the road closure dates.
