There’s positive news for the community when it comes to water and wastewater services.
A recent update to Council shows that the Town continues to have strong capacity in both its drinking water and wastewater systems. As of December 31, 2025, there is still room in the system to support new homes and development. In simple terms, there is enough water and wastewater capacity available to serve hundreds of additional homes and jobs.
Even better, more capacity is on the way. Work to expand the Town’s interim drinking water system is underway and is expected to be completed by summer 2026. Once finished, this will open the door for even more growth in the near future.
At the moment, there are no large development proposals waiting for servicing approval. However, based on past activity, a new group of development applications is expected to come forward later this summer or in early fall.
Overall, the update shows that the Town is in a strong position. There is room to grow, careful planning is in place, and improvements are already happening to support the community’s future.
