The Town of Collingwood is inviting artists and artist teams to submit proposals for a new mural installation at Sunset Point Park Stage.
This exciting public art opportunity will transform the stage backdrop into a vibrant, large-scale visual installation that enhances performances, community events, and everyday park use. The selected artwork will become part of Sunset Point Park’s broader public art landscape, helping to reflect community pride, creativity, and a welcoming, optimistic spirit.
We are seeking bold, uplifting, and visually engaging artwork that captures attention and complements the natural beauty and energy of the park. Submissions should use a vibrant colour palette and reflect a strong creative vision suitable for a high-visibility public space.
Submission Requirements
Artists may submit:
- High-resolution JPEG images of proposed artwork (maximum 2MB per file)
- Up to five (5) original images per artist or artist team
- Artwork may be newly created or existing work; however, all submissions must be original to the applicant
- Existing works must not have been previously exhibited in a public exhibition, installation, or mural project
- Selected artwork will be printed and installed as a four-panel mural backdrop for the stage.
Compensation
Selected artist(s) will receive $750.00, payable upon completion of the selection process.
Selection Process
Submissions will be reviewed by a Community Selection Committee through a one-stage evaluation process. Artwork will be assessed based on:
- Artistic merit
- Relationship to site
- Originality
Deadline
Friday, July 10, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.
