A new Collingwood Art Crawl “Unmissable” taking place at the Simcoe Street Theatre, “From Canvas To Collection” is a presentation that focuses on the ins and outs of collecting visual art. Listen and learn from this experienced panel of art professionals, including Suzanne Steeves, whose first passion was always art and together with fellow gallery owner, Andrea Rinaldo, opened the Butter Gallery in 2016 and it is now one of the largest galleries in South Georgian Bay specializing in Contemporary Canadian Art.
Leanne Kaufman, President and CEO of the Royal Trust Corporation of Canada/The Royal Trust Company, a lawyer by profession who brings experience and knowledge and is host of a successful podcast, ‘Matters Beyond Wealth’ where she explores art as a unique asset in estate planning, together with Robyn Solnik who works with clients and their succession, tax, retirement, and estate planning issues, working with many Canadian families for whom art is a big part of their life, their living and consequently their estate plans.
These industry professionals will discuss tips and trends when it comes to collecting visual art – for those just starting out to those who have been collecting for years. Panelists will also examine overall art collecting and the preservation, maintenance, and inclusion of personal collections in one’s estate plan.
