Indigenous Day Celebration at the Awen Gathering Place

     Event Details:  

    • Time: 9:30 am until 12:30 pm
    • Location: Awen' Gathering Place, Cedar Street behind McDonalds 
    • Parking: FREE parking on Cedar Street, behind McDonalds. Cars are not permitted on the grass field.

    We have Indigenous games run by Jennifer McFarlane (a local Metis woman.)

    We are featuring musician Lisa Marie Naponse an Anishinaabe Kwe from Sudbury

    We are also featuring two Inuit throat singers the Oolayou Duo - Janice and Evalyn

    • 10:45 - 11:00 am: Indigenous Games.
    • 11:00 - 11:30 am: More Music by Lisa Marie Naponse.
    • 11:30 am: Introduction to the Oolayou Mother-Daughter Duo.
    • 11:35 am - 12:30 pm: Throat Singing by the Oolayou Duo, Janice and Evalyn.
