Sidelaunch Days returns in 2024, inviting residents and visitors alike to join in a vibrant celebration of Collingwood's rich maritime heritage and the scenic beauty of South Georgian Bay. This annual festival, to be held August 10th & 11th, promises a weekend filled with free activities for all ages, highlighting the joy of being in, on, and around the water.
The festival spans three key activity areas, including North Birch Street/Harbourview Park, the waterfront promenade (Sidelaunch Way and North Hurontario Street), and new in 2024, visit Downtown Collingwood (84 Hurontario Street Parkette). Explore each location and enjoy live music, entertainment, shipbuilding history, giant games, and more. Each activity area promises something for everyone to enjoy including beverages and food options for purchase.
Returning to Sidelaunch Days are traditional favorites and a mix of new activities. Enjoy the return of the TS Playfair tall ship and take a free deck tour, try free kayaking, cheer on the SUP racers, watch the impressive skills of Team K9 as they present their dog agility show, listen to some great live entertainment and so much more.
There are a boatload of activities happening, throughout Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and then complete your Sidelaunch experience with a free evening concert at the Shipyards Amphitheatre where you can watch the sunset and enjoy great entertainment. Remember to bring your lawn chair or blanket!
