If you’re always up to date on the latest social media trends, love creating content (reels, videos, memes, etc), and want to earn volunteer hours while helping shape how the Town connects with local youth, then we want to hear from you!
The Town of Collingwood is looking for a Youth Communications Ambassador (YCA) to help bring important Town programs, events, and initiatives to life through engaging, youth-focused content.
What's the Role?
As the Youth Communications Ambassador, you'll work with Town staff to help share information that matters to local youth. You will have the opportunity to:
- Brainstorm creative content ideas with Town staff
- Help promote Town programs, events, and services that impact youth
- Create videos, reels, memes, and trending content
- Serve as a youth voice on the Town's social media channels
- Gain real-world communications and content creation experience
After all, who better to connect with local youth than their peers?
What's the Commitment?
The Youth Communications Ambassador Program runs through the 2026/ 2027 school year (October 2026 to June 2027). A kick-off meeting at the beginning of the term will be followed by monthly check-ins with Town staff. Content creation is based on student schedules and Town projects; the expectation is to produce content approximately every two months, with guidance from Town staff and creative input from the student.

No professional experience required! We're looking for enthusiasm, creativity, and a willingness to share ideas.
