The Town of Collingwood has officially acquired land municipally addressed as 15 Greco Court, Collingwood. On September 18, 2023, Council authorized Staff to enter into a purchase and sale agreement with the property owner and undertake the necessary due diligence. The land transaction closed on February 29, 2024, for a purchase price of $2,356,000. The primary purpose of this land acquisition is to accommodate staff and/or facility growth with its proximity to other municipally owned property, providing the ability to expand the Public Works Yard and provide a secondary rear access to the Public Works and Parks Yards. Other potential land uses considered include a future transit depot with electric charging infrastructure, a site contributor for district energy, or a secondary water tower.
