The Town of Collingwood is proud to join communities across Simcoe County in celebrating ITSTARTS month, championing multiculturalism, inclusion, acceptance, and equity.
As part of this celebration, Collingwood raised the #ITSTARTS flag on March 12 at the Community Flagpole located at the front of the Collingwood Public Library.

In collaboration with the County of Simcoe’s Local Immigration Partnership, ITSTARTS month brings the community together to recognize the contributions of immigrants and promote welcoming, supportive spaces for everyone to thrive.
The Town invites residents to participate in this important campaign and celebrate Collingwood's commitment to diversity and inclusion.
In addition to the flag-raising, ITSTARTS cards are available at Town Hall and the Collingwood Public Library. Community members can use these cards to share their messages of support for equity and unity.
Now in its ninth year, the #ITSTARTS campaign has grown into a grassroots success story, inspiring positive change and fostering community engagement. In 2024, the initiative launched its annual Diversity Ambassador Training sessions, equipping ambassadors to create an even greater impact in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Residents, businesses, and organizations can get involved in ITSTARTS month by:
1. Printing ITSTARTS Cards
2. Sharing Messages on Social Media: Use the hashtag #ITSTARTS and tag the County of Simcoe on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or Twitter (@simcoecounty). Share campaign cards, selfie frames, or posts celebrating equity, diversity, and inclusion.
