Original notice posted at 11:40 a.m., April 14, 2026

With the significant recent rainfall received in Collingwood, the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) is experiencing peak flows this morning and is currently experiencing a partial treatment bypass, which started at 10:15 a.m. We expect this bypass to continue throughout the day and will share updates here as they become available.

During a partial bypass, all wastewater still goes through the WWTP and is disinfected by both UV and chlorine, with monitoring, testing, and reporting being completed as required. There is no raw or untreated sewage being discharged into the bay at this time, and the Town's drinking water is not impacted by this situation.
