2024 continues to be a big year for Strategic Planning to ensure Collingwood continues to activate the vision of community members into the future.

Collingwood Council adopted the new Multi-Year Strategic Plan on July 29, 2024, following months of public engagement activities including a statistically significant survey conducted. The Plan for 2024-2028 will serve as a roadmap for the Town of Collingwood’s future. It outlines our community's strategic vision, values, and strategic priorities for the coming years and will act as a guide for decision-making and resource allocation and help to build consensus among Council, staff, and the community about where Collingwood is headed and how it will get there.

Final touches are being made to the design of the Strategic Plan and it will be available in the near future on the project page and Town website.

The next step for the Town in partnership with the Downtown Collingwood Business Improvement Area (BIA), is the Downtown Vision Master Plan development.

The Downtown Visioning Master Plan is being led by Fotenn Planning + Design. The plan will provide a clear vision for the long-term (2051) evolution of the downtown area, including an analysis of the opportunity sites, an engaging Vision Map, and the recommended action items/projects to achieve the vision.

Consultation for the Master Plan began with the statistically significant survey this past spring. A draft plan will be shared for feedback at two upcoming engagement sessions.

Community members are invited to attend the following engagement sessions with our consultants on Thursday, September 5th:

•    Session #1 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Format – Informal and includes interactive opportunities)

•    Session #2 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (Format – Formal with presentation at 5:30 p.m.)

Location: 84 Hurontario Street, weather permitting. If it rains the sessions will be held in Council Chambers, 97 Hurontario Street.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed and engaged by subscribing to updates and future engagement opportunities through engage.collingwood.ca/strategic-plan.

The Collingwood Downtown BIA is also currently developing its organizational Strategic Plan which is a separate process from the Downtown Visioning Master Plan engagement. For questions about this project please contact General Manager, Susan Nicholson, at snicholson@collingwooddowntown.com.
