In Collingwood, guidance related to health related safety measures for re-opening and operating your business safely comes from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU). SMDHU announced that as of Monday, July 13, 2020, when people enter into a public indoor space a (e.g. grocery store, community centre, shopping mall, hair salon, library, place of worship, etc.), or use a public transit service in Simcoe Muskoka, they will be required to wear a face covering.

A face covering means a medical or non-medical mask or other face covering such as a bandana or scarf that covers the mouth and nose.

This has significant implications for businesses and organizations, and how they operate and enforce this new requirement.  SMDHU has issued a letter to all business and organizations detailing what is permitted and expected, along with potential penalties.
