What's New:
As many may know, Collingwood was awarded certified Silver status as a Bicycle Friendly Community for 2021-2025 by the Share the Road Cycling Coalition.
While most of the Collingwood population truly Share the Road and Share the Trail, there is an opportunity to reach GOLD status through continuous improvements in trail etiquette and on-road safety.
Drivers – Please give cyclists at least 1 metre space when passing.
Cyclists – Please obey Highway Traffic Act including coming to a full stop at stop signs and indicate your direction using hand signals (https://www.ontario.ca/page/bicycle-safety). Ride in single file in bike lanes and on the trails. Control your speed and warn pedestrians by bell or voice.
Pedestrians – Please keep to the right of the trail.
Dog walkers – Please keep your pet on a leash at all times.
Looking ahead:
TATAC will have a booth at the Collingwood Farmers Market on July 2. Come by and visit and see what the committee is all about and maybe find out how you can help with our trail system and active transportation.
