Several members of Council, including myself have been contacted by members of the public concerning proposed changes to the Cranberry Golf Course. I would like to take this opportunity to let residents know that this particular proposal is in the pre-consultation stage of the planning process, and has not yet come to Council for review and consideration.

The pre-consultation stage of the planning process is confidential and does not involve public notice or meetings unless the developer voluntarily wishes to engage residents in this early stage of the process. Many pre-consultations result in substantial changes to proposals and sometimes formal applications are never submitted.

I encourage interested residents to subscribe to receive Council and committee meeting agendas so you can stay informed of when Council will be reviewing this and other matters. You can subscribe to meeting agendas, news & notices and e-newsletters at www.collingwood.ca/stay-connected.

I also want to assure residents that all planning applications are reviewed under a transparent, multi-stage process including evaluation using best planning practices, making sure municipal and other legislative requirements are met and in the best interests of current and future residents.
