Registration is now open for Brushstrokes and Microscopes, an exclusive evening of art and science, all in support of ovarian cancer.
Ovarian cancer is the most fatal women's cancer. Five Canadian women die from ovarian cancer every day and long-term survival outcomes have not changed in 50+ years.
In honour of World Ovarian Cancer Day on May 8, event organiser Alicia Tone, wants to share a unique opportunity to help change these statistics.
On the evening of June 27 at studio ciel gallery in Collingwood, the worlds of art and science will collide to raise much-needed funds for ovarian cancer research.
Part of the Run for Her initiative founded by Collingwood native, scientist, runner and advocate Alicia Tone, highlights of the Brushstrokes + Microscopes event include:
- Featured remarks from patient advocates and ovarian cancer research scientists;
- A silent auction featuring event-inspired paintings by artists Lindsay Lesage and Cobie Cruz, and products from local companies;
- Live music, edible treats, and a stunning space.

Tickets can be purchased for $31 to represent the 3,100 Canadian women diagnosed with ovarian cancer every year. All net proceeds go to Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity dedicated to overcoming ovarian cancer.
