Proclamation: Prostate Cancer Awareness Month September 2024

WHEREAS,    Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian men; and

WHEREAS,1 in 8 men in Canada will be diagnosed with the disease; and

WHEREAS, The survival rate for Prostate Cancer is nearly 100% when detected early; and

WHEREAS, Those with a family history of the disease are at a greater risk; and

WHEREAS, Awareness and conversations about Prostate Cancer can lead to screening and early detection; and

WHEREAS, The Town of Collingwood supports everyone committed to raising awareness about Prostate Cancer.

NOW THEREFORE, I, Yvonne Hamlin, Mayor of the Town of Collingwood,

DO HEREBY PROCLAIM September 2024 as Prostate Cancer Awareness Month in the     Town of Collingwood.
