WHEREAS, The Victorian Order of Nurses for Canada is a charitable community-based health care organization that has addressed community health and social needs for 128 years; and
WHEREAS, VON Simcoe County Recreation Therapists, Personal Support Workers, Coordinator and many other staff and volunteers have been caring for the lives of residents of Collingwood since 1991; and
WHEREAS, VON Adult Day Program and support services make a significant contribution to the health care system as they support residents living with dementia and residents isolated in the community of Collingwood.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Yvonne Hamlin, Mayor of the Town of Collingwood,
DO HEREBY PROCLAIM the week of May 18th to 24th, 2025 as “VON Week” in the Town of Collingwood.
