For the Town of Collingwood (Town) to provide accessible and reliable services to its residents and to continue to grow and flourish, the Town is undertaking a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) study to develop a Water and Wastewater Master Servicing Plan (MSP).
The Water and Wastewater MSP will review existing drinking water and wastewater infrastructure and identify long-term servicing strategies based on projected growth, climate, and system performance in the Town of Collingwood serviced areas. The study will recommend infrastructure improvements and an implementation plan for future capital investments.
Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Process
The Master Plan studies are being conducted in accordance with the requirements of Phase 1 and 2 of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2000, as amended in 2007, 2011, 2015, and 2023). The Studies will address future servicing alternative solutions for drinking water and wastewater infrastructure in the serviced areas.
Public Information Centres
In-person Public Information Centres (PICs) will be held. The PICs will present the study purpose, existing conditions, problems and opportunities, evaluation criteria, alternative solutions, and a preliminary preferred servicing strategy for both water and wastewater systems. Notifications will be provided for each PIC, to be completed in 2026 and 2027.
