The Gallery at L.E. Shore’s Arts and Culture Council (ACC) is honored to present an exhibition celebrating the work of the late artist, Joan Folinsbee Timmins.
The exhibition will explore works from a multi-decade career: abstract and realistic, large scale and small; landscapes, portraits, still-life, abstracts and figure drawings in many mediums - watercolour, acrylics, oils, pastels, pen and ink.
This is a peek into Joan’s life as an artist. It's a journey in time, place and creative growth; the roller coaster ride of a unique individual.
We invite all South Georgian Bay Jewish Community members to join us in celebration of Jewish Heritage Month as we offer children's programming at the Collingwood Public Library on May 2nd beginning at 10am, followed by a Shabbat Luncheon beginning at 12:30pm.
Both these events require pre-registration at shalom@sgbjc.ca .
Tickets to the luncheon are available at southgeorgianbayjewishcommunity.ca
We hope you can join us!
Come on out to a live art competition, loosely inspired by the hit TV show Landscape Artist of the Year (UK) and its Canadian iteration!
Set on the lawns of the L.E. Shore Library, this is a competition with a twist:
Five featured artists each have four hours to complete a single painting, competing for the L.E. Shore Gallery Artist of the Year title. However, a sixth spot in the competition is still open and it will be filled live during the event!
Attention all garage sale lovers: come find a bargain at The Gallery at L.E. Shore’s first ever Art Supplies Sale!
This is a garage-sale-style market held on the front lawns of the L.E. Shore Library, featuring gently used arts and crafts supplies from the personal collections of your friends and neighbours. There will be a range of items for sale, including paint, paintbrushes, easels, art books, stamps, sketch pads, jewelry-making supplies, paper crafting supplies and more! Bringing cash is recommended.
Get in touch with your artistic side and make some sidewalk chalk art at the L.E. Shore Library! We’ll supply the chalk (and cold lemonade!), just bring yourself and your imagination.
We’re also excited to host artist Nicole Foster, who will be crafting a chalk piece to show what can be accomplished with just art supplies and a stretch of asphalt.
All ages welcome. This is a free event, and chalk supplied at no cost. Chalk supplies and sidewalk spots limited – first come, first served. In the event of inclement weather, this event will be canceled.
