The Town of Collingwood's municipal and school board elections are held every four years and provide residents with the opportunity to have a say in local decision-making.

Clerk Services will post the name of each nominee having filed the appropriate papers as soon as possible, however, not later than 24 business hours from the day the nomination was received. 2026 Municipal and School Board Election

Monday, October 26, 2026

Municipal and school board elections are held every four years on the fourth Monday in October with the next election scheduled to take place on Monday, October 26, 2026. 

During a municipal election, electors can vote for:

  • Mayor (1)
  • Deputy Mayor (1)
  • Councillors (up to 7)
  • School Board Trustee (1)

Nominations open May 1, 2026 and close on August 21, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.

Interested in running for Council or School Board Trustee? Nomination forms must be filed in person or by an agent on your behalf at the Town Hall, 97 Hurontario Street, Collingwood, ON. An appointment to submit nomination papers is highly recommended.
