Ontario Announces Provincewide Shutdown to Stop the Spread of COVID-19
The Ontario government, in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health and other experts, has imposed a Provincewide Shutdown effective Saturday, December 26, 2020, at 12:01 a.m. On the advice of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, all Ontarians are advised to stay home as much as possible with trips outside the home limited to necessities such as food, medication, and supporting vulnerable community members. The current COVID-19 Response Framework will be paused during the Provincewide Shutdown and will last 28 days in Southern Ontario.
The Town of Collingwood is asking everyone to follow all required public health measures and public health advice. Our goal is to act responsibly, work together, and continue to support local businesses safely.
Town facilities currently open to the public that will be affected commencing December 24, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. for 30 days will include:
- Central Park Arena and Eddie Bush Arena will close
- Centennial Aquatic Centre will close
- Collingwood Museum will close, however will offer curbside pick up for retail items
- Collingwood Public Library will permit counter pick up and drop off and limit the number of patrons in the lobby to 6 (no browsing permitted)

The Town’s critical and essential services, including fire services, drinking water & wastewater treatment, snow clearing, enforcement of priority bylaws, and essential customer services will continue. We will update our service offerings to keep the public and staff safe and to comply with the Shutdown’s recommendations.
